Beautiful

“Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than the belief that she is beautiful” unknown

“Every woman is beautiful, it just takes the right man to see it”  unknown

Is it possible to measure  BEAUTY?

My dear friend, you can not measure beauty. There are no units to measure beauty.

“True beauty is measured by the number of pearls within you, not those around your neck.”
Suzy Kassem

Can anybody decide how beautiful you are?

If that is the case then you are degrading yourself.

“Say to yourself, I am perfect, the way I am. Say to yourself, I am beautiful the way I am. Say to yourself, those who do not accept me the way I am, do not deserve me in their life.”
Abhijit Naskar

But human psychology is unique

Humans enjoy double standards.

“Everyone wants to look beautiful. No one wants to be beautiful!”
 Avijeet Das

What is my definition of beauty?

“Beauty being the best possible version of yourself on the inside and out”  unknown

But Somerset Maugham has a different definition

“Beauty is an ecstasy; it is as simple as hunger. There is really nothing to be said about it. It is like the perfume of a rose: you can smell it and that is all.”

Take home message

“What is beauty? Why is this world obsessed with beauty? It is a pathetic way of measuring your worth in the eyes of another.

How can one person or the majority decide who is beautiful and who is not? Why are people all over the world being driven to adopt standards of beauty? Why do we have beauty pageants? The world is making people want to “look beautiful” but not “be beautiful.”

The world is making the new generation self- conscious about external looks. The new generation is becoming superficial. There is no depth in people.

True beauty is not in how we look. It is in how we love, care, and share.”

Thank you.

      1. I beg to disagree regarding the new generation. Since time immemorial people have tried to present an appearance that would be perceived as attractive in the eyes of others. There is a need to be liked at first sight, and the need is caused by competition natural in every human society. Granted, inner beauty shines, but in order to see it, the viewer has to look. In order to look, one has to come close. And nobody would come close to a person whose appearance is unattractive. Would you take a second look at Mother Theresa if you didn’t know who she was?
