“Always laugh when you can, it is cheap medicine.” Lord Byron
LAUGH ALL DAY FOR NO REASON
This is the common advice given by Modern Gurus and Pundits.
Normally we laugh if we find something that is funny.
When we laugh…it becomes a sign of happiness.
Here we must differentiate intentional laugh and unintentional laugh.
If you laugh for no reason and that too all the time of the day……then you may be called MAD!
IT’S NOT A LAUGHING MATTER SOMETIMES!
When you are faced with a sad situation, should you cry or laugh?
Do you think intentional laugh as in ‘Laughter Yoga’ is debatable?
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON ‘LAUGHTER YOGA’ AND HEALTH BENEFITS?
‘Laughter yoga’ is a modern day exercise involving prolonged voluntary laughter.
Check this 60 seconds clip and you can understand better.
QUESTIONS TO YOU
✔Can you be laughing all day irrespective of the happenings around you?
✔Can you laugh without a joke or looking at memes or cartoons?
✔Sitcoms and stand up comedies can help you to laugh to the extent, the program runs. Afterward?
You realize that your stressful life stares at you!
LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE
Of course, we all know that laughter brings down our stress levels and improves the immune system and my point is one can’t force on themselves to laugh.
Laughter has to be spontaneous from the bottom of the heart.
But there are certain diseases which can cause emotional outbursts without any reason.
ARE YOU AWARE OF ‘GELASTIC EPILEPSY’?
Here the cause is unknown.
It’s a kind of seizure, involving a sudden burst of energy, in the form of laughing or crying.
AND WHAT ABOUT PSEUDO BULBAR AFFECT?
In this condition,we know the reason for the emotional outburst.
The people who had a brain injury or other neurological diseases, (Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis) can develop uncontrollable emotional outbursts in the form of laughing or crying.
It’s hard to stop these outbursts which are not connected to the moods, which may even be inappropriate to the event.
MY 5 THOUGHTS ON LAUGHTER
- Unintentional humor and laughter are natural, spontaneous and innocent.
- Keep smiling. We know that smile is contagious and everybody around you start smiling creating a happy mood.
- Try to spend time with joyful people.
- Count your blessings and laugh yourself.
- Since you ain’t in control everything in your life, try to have a positive attitude.
