Winter

“Winter is coming.”
George R.R. Martin, Game of Thrones

If you are a fan of ‘Game of Thrones’, then you are used to this particular sentence, a euphemism, for ‘trouble times ahead’.Maybe those days were different.

I am not sure how westerners welcome WINTER in general.

Winter in India is just for two months, December and January. One can have amazing experience in Kashmir(skiing-Gulmarg). In the rest of the country, not much fun except the weather is pleasant.

The temperature in North India ranges from 10–15 °C (50–59 °F) and in South India, it ranges from 20–25 °C (68–77 °F).

Hill stations are misty/foggy and one can enjoy the typical smell of eucalyptus trees.

“Eat, drink, and be cozy.”  Unknown

Winter can bring all the health problems too. Flu, sore throat, dry skin etcetera are common.

Even the dressing pattern changes. People wear clothes in layers. Woolen sweaters, Jackets, and head caps are back in action from the closets.

Shawls are popular and to keep the body worm, many wrap shawls around their bodies as shown in the photographs below.
