Why are many statues are naked?

“Art can never exist without naked beauty displayed”.   William Blake

My guess is, it’s a pleasurable thing to do.

It can boost the sexual urge.

Probably it falls under cultural attitude.

The naked sculptures can enhance the beauty of curves.

I don’t know the perfect answer. Readers can enlighten me.

May be men like a naked sculpture of opposite gender more, since most of the sculptors are men.

Trivia

As per the BBC in the UK Of the 828 statues it recorded, 174 of them were female.

In Trafford Center, Manchester over 100 seminaked statues can be noticed.

It’s said Greek statues are always naked.I am not sure.

It’s said nakedness part of culture indicating one reaching adulthood.

Why are Greek Statues always naked?

      You are right in one way..
      But that is the irony of humans ways of thinking .
      Though some say it is vulgar…but from inside they do admire the nakedness The reation is two fold ,one for the sake of family members,they say it is vulgar but for the sake of themselves,they feel it is pleasurable and dream come true !
