At last, you have arrived!
Congratulations!
All the best for your blogosphere experience.
Start enjoying your participation!
But sadly your arrival went unnoticed.
Nobody cares about you, because you arrived secretly!
You wished to maintain your secrecy this way. You may have your reasons, but in the blogosphere, people are least bothered about you if you are unknown.
What do I mean…you are unknown?
Read further…

Definition of the unknown
The unknown is defined as not known.
In other words, nobody knows that you have arrived, and if you decided to be known as unknown…
You sound strange, unfamiliar or one may imagine you are scary in the world of the blogosphere.
Many a time I find nothing about anything ‘about’ the author in some of the WP blogs.
Do you love yourself without a name?
If so, how to address you?
How to develop an interest in reading you and knowing you?
You may think it is unnecessary to reveal your name. It’s OK. I am with you.
Still, you can have a Pen name, pet name or a weird name even a scary or strange name…still, it’s fine…since readers have to address you.
As far as your other details are concerned you can always lie, and none is interested to know you deeper.
Or you can be frank and tell every detail about you, some of the readers may like this since this can lead to like-minded people coming on the same platform.
What is the general advice?
But the general advice given is never to reveal too much about yourself on the internet, not that social media giants are unaware of you.
True, you can’t escape the watchful eyes of Social media giants.
Something about ‘About’
Whoever starts blogging, the first thing is to write ‘ABOUT’…..regarding himself or herself under the ‘About’ or ‘About me’ page after creating these pages.
The idea is to tell the purpose of your blog and also some aspects about you (the author) to future readers and probable followers.
You are also telling your readers why you are inspired to say something in your blog posts and even the reasons which made you take up the plunge into the ocean of the blogosphere.
Why is this important?
Because your future reader or follower is interested to know something about you and if both of you happen to have similar interests and your thoughts also resonate with each other, mutual admiration can progress to the next level, strengthening the bond.
Why am I writing these things?
✔Many times, we come across blogs without an About page.
✔I noticed that for many of the blogs I visited when I click the ‘ABOUT’ page I get the following pop-up.
‘This is an example of a page. Unlike posts, which are displayed on your blog’s front page in the order they’re published, pages are better suited for more timeless content that you want to be easily accessible, like your about or contact information. Click the Edit link to make changes to this page or add another
Now what happens?
Believe me if this response ‘pops up’….disaster is waiting to happen.
Your reader has lost interest in you & your blog and moved to a new author.
Now you have become master of your own ‘fate’. 👋👋👋🎈
Cheers for your self-inflicted ‘happiness’
Why does the blogger fail to fill up the ‘ABOUT’ page?
My guess is
- The person is new to the blogosphere and still in the process of learning the ropes.
- Finds difficult to follow/understand the instructions
- Least bothered
- To maintain secrecy

The hardest thing I’ve ever written is the About Page. Moreover, I’d all my post lined up before I’d written an About Page.
Also, whenever I come across an About page with the pop up you mentioned, it certainly puts me off and I’m hesitant to stay any longer on their blog because to me, it feels like they’re uninterested and the blog seems like a temporary set up.

It’s my pleasure! And Philo, you can call me Nathi. The other one is too long and you don’t have to go into the trouble of typing the whole this. Just Nathi is fine😉
Not yet! But will have my coffee in an hour or two! Hope you’d yours☕️
