This post is in response to Mind over memory-Sculpture Saturday Challenge
This statue is noticed along the Steenhouwersdijk canal in Bruges, a place famous for canals, bridges and statues, near Brussels.( 88 Kms from Brussels)
Bruges is said to be Venice of the North.
At first glance, I thought the statue has fallen, but a closer look,I realized that the person is either in deep thought or engrossed in the beauty of the flowing canal water.
I felt this statue is interesting because
- It’s naked
- Green in color and
- It’s in lying position
- Engrossed in something, which none of us can make out.
Do Statues teach us any thing apart from refreshing our memory ?
“What can you learn from a Statue ? You can learn to stay calm what ever happens !!” Mehmet Murat Ildan
And with Corona Pandemic in an aggressive mood, best thing is to stay calm !
