“The next time you see a spider web, please, pause and look a little closer. You’ll be seeing one of the most high-performance materials known to man.” Cheryl Hayashi
What is your lightning reaction when you see a spider ?
Yuck…..horrid…..monstrous,,,,creepy….scary….crush it…..and you shudder.
Majority of us have ‘Arachnophobia‘- an abnormal fear of spiders.
Many of you instantly feel FORMICATION– a sensation that exactly resembles that of insects crawling on your body.
I fully understand your feelings and disgust, and I also know it’s hard to convince you,but let me beg you…don’t kill the spider when you notice it,majority are not dangerous to humans.
Why you should not kill a spider ?
Because spiders eat the disease causing pests like mosquitoes, roaches, flies and cloths.
Believe me if I say, they are the best home pest controllers.
You are indebted life long to these eight legged wonder !!
Humans have already caused enough damage to Mother Nature and present Corona Virus pandemic giving the warning bell !
Have ‘Live & let live’ motto and share your home with these great creatures.
“If you want to live and thrive, let the spider run alive.” Spanish proverb
Spider is a magnificent creature and an Engineering marvel and millimetre perfect !
Spiderwebs are always amazing.
Spider web
As I was walking around my building,(since nothing can be done due to corona lock down) ,and being a photo enthusiast,I immediately noticed the (below) spider web and lost no time in taking a quick shot with macro lens.

The greatest artist and web-designer ever is indeed a spider! Munia Khan
As you notice the web is having a tent or dome shape.
Also observe another flat web beneath. And the spider is sitting in the peak of the dome upside down.
What an amazing sight and what an extraordinary design !! By such a tiny creature !!
I understand from google search….. this spider comes under ‘tent spider’ category. Also notice above the dome, strings of beads, which I guess are the egg sacs.It is said that this particular spider takes 12 hours to build the web non stop !!
May be if any of my readers happen to be Arachnologists,I request to be enlightened further.

String of beads
I am amazed at the architecture of the web.The way the string of beads located at the top of the dome. What makes the spider design the web this way ? Can it be true that spiders brain is much superior to that of humans ? I am lost !
Life’s Lessons to be learnt from the spider
1.Patience is a bitter plant, but its fruit is sweet Chinese proverb.
It takes about minimum an hour to spin its web which easily gets disrupted repeatedly and you must know that spiders are not disappointed and re build their web everyday and wait for the catch patiently.
Spiders tell the humans to work daily with responsibility, and to have the patience.Rome is not built in a day and rewards are astonishing. We must have faith in our work.
2.Life is fragile. We’re not guaranteed a tomorrow so give it everything you’ve got. Tim Cook
Spiders web looks delicate but scientifically it is stronger than steel.Similarly, our life is fragile and just like spider makes its best effort to build web and wait for the catch we must make best efforts to lead a better life.
Let us remember that we are stronger than what we think.
3. Always expect the worst, and you will never be disappointed Peter Wastholm
Any number of times, you destroy the web, never spider complains, instead patiently rebuilds its web, spider already knew its home is temporary and prepared to rebuild the damaged web.
So if you are mentally prepared for the worst you are sure to rebuild your career.Perseverance matters.
4.Creativity –“The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt” Sylvia Plath.
The creativity of the spider, in the web formation is unique and the spider never goes into self doubt.Humans should adopt creativity. There should be constant creativity of the soul.Never doubt your abilities.
5.Don’t wait for the perfect time to start making changes to your life. The time is now Chris Gardner
The spider never looks for a perfect site or day and it knows where the food is available and quickly starts building the web.
Don’t wait for the perfect day or perfect time. There is no such thing.
Get started today, try to reach the goals, whatever you are planning.

I have never studied spiders per se but at my work I have been able to observe them closely. I work in a warehouse and whenever a co-worker would see one they would call me over because I am not afraid of them. I refuse to kill them. I take them outside and I often marvel at how they will create a web on the fly, no pun intended. They are very cool to watch. Thanks for reminding me of that.

Great post. Spiders are not a fear of mine. I am grateful for how hard they work at keeping many of the other pesky pests far away from me. Love the pictures too, thanks for sharing.
