Good things come to those who wait..But Bad things come to those who “weight”

Life & Death are in the power of your own tongue

No No…… I am not talking of the proverb 18:21 which warns us about our words coming from our tongue that can either speak life or that can speak death.Bible Hub

Just relax.

I am not talking of corona pandemic.Enough is already said.

I am talking about our present day life style with reference to our food habits and the way we eat and not giving enough time gap between mouth & Hand while eating and at the same time addicted to junk food ( binge eating ) !! BED

By now you know that I am talking about obesity.

“Take charge,Don’t be Large” Daniel Worona.

Is obesity a disease ?

Yes my friend, obesity is a chronic disease. Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have an adverse effect on health. Obesity

Why this happens ?

  1. Excessive food intake
  2. Lack of exercise
  3. Genetic susceptibility

Any problem being obese?

Being overweight is not a problem except it can cause low esteem. Body-shame

“Losing confidence in one’s body is to lose confidence in oneself “

Being obese is altogether a different matter.
And my friend you are inviting trouble by being obese.

You may suffer from one of the following and die too young.Do you wish this to happen ?

  1. Cardio vascular diseases.
  2. Diabetes
  3. High blood pressure
  4. Dyslipidemia

I am not talking the details of various measures to be taken etc to prevent obesity or complications of the diseases from obesity, that can happen.

I am trying to simplify the discussion.

Any recipe to lose weight?

I know….Your immediate thoughts are on Dieting & Hitting the Gym.

A recipe has no soul.Ask the cook. You must bring soul to the Recipe Thomas Keller

My friend don’t fall prey to marketing gimmicks. No amount of dieting & gym going to help you in the long run.

Losing weight does not have a recipe.Losing weight depends on your soul.

Every obese person has to evolve their own recipe

But I can provide you some basic ideas and you can modify according to your needs.

  • Fruits & vegetables
  • Exercise 3 times a week,no need to hit gym, simple walking and jogging will do
  • No smoking
  • No drinking
  • No sugar
  • No junk foods
  • Avoid processed food.

The point I wish to hammer out is DIETING DOES NOT WORK.The more food items you
restrict, you tend to eat more and you prefer to eat junk even more.Even if you combine with Gym….still it won’t work. Statistics show that, those who diet tend to put on weight in the long run and it’s true.

Eat, only when you are hungry.Stop eating exactly at that point when brain sends signals that your stomach is full.

Never allow yourself to be too hungry.Otherwise Over eating happens.

Next you start thinking of what to eat.Include greens and fruits, avoid sugar at any cost,as I mentioned above.

Remember to say No to three food items.1.Sugar 2.Salt & 3.processed food.

Remember to walk or jog thrice a week for 30 minutes.

Take home points

1.Preventing wait gain is much easier than steps to be taken for weight loss.

2.Eat only when you are hungry and stop when you feel full.Don’t create situations where you are too hungry

3.Dieting is a waste of time, energy & money.Instead have control on your mind.

4.Under take minimum, but regular exercises without taxing your dear body.

“Thou shouldst eat to live; not live to eat.” Socrates

I dedicate this post to my online friend who is always worried about being obese and into dieting…….My friend remember that…..dieting doesn’t help,I repeat dieting won’t help.

Thank you. Namaste 🙏🙏🙏

      Couldn’t agree more Nanchi.
Obesity is not much talked in India and many silently suffer bullying or behind the back …jokes. No doubt lifestyle is the main reason and attitude and mind set can easily solve the problem. As you said simple steps followed religiously can help tremendously.

    Hey !
Dieting does help to control and cure obesity. Also related diseases can be cured with diet and exercise combination. You just need to say “Focus on a balanced diet.” Dieting doesn’t always mean restricting certain things or some junk food.

      Thank you Prashasti Patel.

Agree, dieting with balanced diet definately helps in controlling obesity and can prevent complications of obesity.

The point I am stressing is on the mindset of people who are on diet .
Majority of the people after sincerely following dieting ( under dietician care ),slowly start to deviate from the strict regime only to put on weight again.
Majority try initially ‘short term diet regime’ or something like ‘crash dieting’….. resulting in failure and they start thinking ( as time passes) their body is
Health At Every Size ( HAES ) has got a different observation.

Looks like for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction since there are different schools of thought for solving the same problem, and confusion continues.

Wow, I’m shocked you haven’t gotten crucified for speaking the truth here.

There are so many people out there that will take no responsibility for this issue and blame anything and everything else for it, OR just outright say there’s nothing wrong with it and we’re horrible people for saying otherwise. Do NOT post this on Twitter or say it in California in particular, LOL.

To be fair, sometimes it is a thyroid issue or whatever. Those are fairly rare though. Likewise, the amount of sugar added into processed foods today should be outright criminal. We’re talking things like normal bread, “healthy” cereals, etc.. not Twinkies. Read the book “The Case Against Sugar”, and look at how many books on sugar addiction there are in print today.

Ultimately it does all come down to personal responsibility though. I’m speaking as somebody who does need to lose some weight also.

      Thank you Silk Cords.
People are kind here and I am fortunate.
Ha ha you can notice many smiles on my face, when you were referring Twitter / talking to Californians.Thankfully I have 0 followers in Twitter.LOL.
You are right about sugar.Sugar is the culprit in all the food sold from stores.
Let me check the book you mentioned-‘The case against sugar’ Thank you.
True what you said about ‘personal responsibility’
Glad you are fit & Perfect and no need to lose weight.God bless you.
