The festival has a deep spiritual & philosophical significance.

Although every festival has it’s own charm,festival of Holi is unique because of the colours it involves.

Holi is one of the revered and celebrated festivals in India.The festival starts in the evening on the full moon day.This year it falls on 10 th of March.

Holi is the day,people forget their conflicts and fights and spend the day in joy together.The essence of Holy is colours & tasty dishes.

Holi is famous as ‘Festival of Colours’ & ‘Festival of Love’ The rituals start by lighting up the bonfire,the process symbolizes the triumph of good over the evil. On this day people play with colors with their friends & families.

Culturally,Holi is celebrated at a time of the year, when people expect a good harvest giving an opportunity to rejoice .

If you are a foreigner,check the dates in February or March for Holi,have enough spare cloths,join the crowd on the streets,spray/sprinkle or splash bright colored dye on anyone walking and to your surprise none will object or abuse you.

It’s so joyful to join the fun.People smear colorful powders on each other. People also carry water guns or balloon filled with colored water.

A word of Caution

1.Experts across the world have advised to reduce mass gatherings to avoid the spread of COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus.So better one avoids the crowd or mass gathering this year,

2.The colors used during the festival come from the flowers but now a days it’s synthetic and one must take caution especially regarding eyes & skin.

3.People with sensitive skin better avoid the fun, and refrain from using the water balloons.Those with spectacles beware.You may get hurt.Best to leave the frame in home.
